In May 2024 we took park in the World Trade Tobacco Conference that was held at the Rainbow Towers in Harare Zimbabwe. Maguires was designated the topic of Sustainable Livelihoods: Uplifting Rural Communities through tobacco production. The presentation included a detailed exploration of this topic.

The drive is in line with Zimbabwe’s Governmental Vision 2030 and is based around the development of a smart city. Most of 2023 was spent rehabilitating the entire premises, that had been neglected for many years and consequently faced serious deterioration. The walls, ceilings, plumbing, and electricity have all been reworked and transformed into an agri-type centre, stocking some of the world’s leading Cutting Edge Technologies.

TIMBER PROJECT
Lion’s Den Rail Depot represents another recent progression our ours, where we have stationed ourselves to accumulate timber harvests from the wetter Eastern Highlands of the country and distribute accordingly. We anticipate to rail and road haul 20,000 tons of harvested timber this year (2024) and double this quantity each year to achieve our target of 200,000 tons of curing fuel.
